Thanks to everyone who took the Health and Safety Survey!
Respondents rated Triple Zero Victoria’s health and safety response 5.5/10 on average, and 55% cited Workload as the top issue at work.
The union believes that the rating Triple Zero has been given is not reflective of health and safety representatives abilities but rather, Triple Zero’s failure to meaningfully support leaders within the service.
000VIC management’s control of committee meetings and their refusal to meaningfully address the issues raised by the HSRs, has led to HSRs resigning from their role.
To remedy this situation, Jules and Anna from UWU will host a 5 day OH&S Representative Initial Training Course tailored specifically to emergency call taking and dispatching. This training session will be open to ALL HSRs no matter what union or service they are in.
This is a great opportunity for 000Vic workers to come together, learn about their rights and powers, and how they can provide collective support to one another when raising issues with 000VIC management.
If you would like to become a Health and Safety Representative or know someone in your team who would be a great advocate for workers, please contact Jules on 0422 682 622.
