Admin Members Vote

Ambulance Victoria Admin Union Members are voting on whether they endorse the in-principle agreement to translate from the Ambulance Victoria Operational Agreement to the Management and Administrative Agreement (AVMA).

Admin union members had never before entered the AV bargaining room or had a say about their wages and conditions at work. It’s an enormous achievement that they have been able to secure:

  • NO More Mercer System!
  • A 3% Salary Increase: admin salaries will be increased by 3% before translating to AVMA.
  • Additional Pay Point Progression: admin staff will receive one extra pay point progression before translation (e.g., from A to B, B to C, or C to D).
  • Salary Adjustment: admin salaries will be increased to the nearest higher pay point in Schedule A of the AVMA 2021.
  • Further Increase in October 2024: an additional 2% increase will be added to admin annual salaries in October 2024 on the AVMA.
  • One-Time Lump Sum Payment: admin staff will receive a one-off payment of $7,120 once the Ops Agreement is finalised.
  • Grandfathering of Current Penalties and Leave Arrangements: existing penalties and leave arrangements for shift workers will be maintained.
  • Classification Review: admin staff can request a classification review without Mercer involvement (which is not possible under the Ops Agreement).
  • Job Resize: admin staff can request a job resize (previously not possible under the current agreement).

These new entitlements have been achieved through the dedicated advocacy of admin union members in bargaining meetings and through members taking protected action. It is union members voices and their stories about the value of administrative work at AV that has moved Executive to do better for admin staff.

All administrators translating from the Operational Agreement to the AVMA will benefit from the dedicated efforts of admin union members.

Imagine what admin staff could achieve in the future when they fully unionise!

This is just the beginning of building a strong and effective member-led union.
