On 17 September 2024, the union contacted Wilsecc management on behalf of Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) and union members, expressing concerns about the transparency of the HSR nomination process. Workers have reported past incidents where management deemed them ineligible to run for HSR roles, eroding trust in the system.
To enhance fairness, UWU recommended that TZV publish an updated list of nominees every three days during the nomination period and distribute it to all Triple Zero workers and UWU. However, Triple Zero has failed to respond, reinforcing the belief among members that health and safety efforts are nothing more than a superficial box-ticking exercise, rather than a genuine commitment to worker welfare. This disregard for meaningful consultation is unacceptable and highlights a troubling pattern of neglect.
