On 31 October 2024, the union wrote to Ambulance Victoria regarding changes to Service Desk Staff responsibilities without formal consultation under the Enterprise Agreement.
Service Desk staff were informed by email that they would now be expected to support Team Standup Field Services with tasks such as:
- Laptop imaging, testing, and rollout
- Printer refresh
- 3G shutdown
- Mobile device management
The union has requested clarification on why this change was implemented without a formal consultation meeting, as stipulated under Clause 10.2 (Consultation and Implementation of Change) of the Management and Administrative Agreement 2021.
Staff impacted by these new responsibilities seek clarification on whether they will receive appropriate remuneration under Clause 46 (Higher Duties). These duties align with the Field Services banding of 3.1.1, while Service Desk staff are currently banded at 2.2.1.
The union is advocating for adequate training to ensure that staff taking on these higher duties are well-prepared, particularly for those unfamiliar with the new tasks.
