Ketamine Exposure Survey

David Shanahan, an Intensive Care Paramedic and master’s student at Monash University, is conducting research on paramedics’ perceptions of occupational ketamine exposure. Please take a moment to complete this important survey.

David’s recent scoping review revealed that all healthcare professionals who work closely with ketamine face a significant risk of occupational exposure that can be detected in workplace drug testing.

David’s follow-up study is addressing the knowledge gap regarding paramedics’ understanding of occupational exposure to ketamine. The study will help to inform best practices for handling and administering ketamine in the prehospital setting and contribute to the development of comprehensive guidelines and support systems to protect paramedics’ right to work in a safe environment.
