Ambulance Victoria has finally responded to a letter AEAV sent in October regarding Rural Spares break entitlements and AV’s response is dismissive and, in the union’s opinion, blatantly incorrect.
AV has used the conditions relevant to on-call paramedics to justify the breaking of 10-hour breaks and are denying ‘spare’ staff an entitlement which is confirmed in the AVEA 2020.

As a result, the union has responded to AV in writing and is lodging a grievance on behalf of all members who work ‘spare’.
